About

Pocket Verdict started as a group chat where three friends kept arguing about which games were worth the storage space. At some point we realised nobody was writing the kind of reviews we wanted to read — the ones that mention how a game drains your battery on a commute or whether the controls survive one-handed use on a bus.

We are a small independent team. Nobody hands us a script, and no publisher gets to preview what we say. We buy or download the games ourselves and play them the way you would: in short bursts, on older phones, sometimes with a cracked screen protector.

When we pick a game to cover, we look for something that says something about mobile play as a whole — a clever control scheme, a smart approach to session length, or just a genre done unusually well. We ignore hype cycles and cover what we can't stop opening.

Every review here reflects the opinion of whoever wrote it. We disagree with each other constantly, and we think that's a feature.

Miloš Kovač — Miloš has been reviewing mobile games since the days of resistive touchscreens and still keeps three test phones charging on his desk. He edits everything that goes live and picks the games worth our time.
